Nathalie Matthys is a classically trained pianist and jazz-singer with 20+ years of experience as a soloist, chamber musician, lead singer and collaborator. Her core mission is to connect people through and share the beauty of classical music, jazz, original compositions and arrangements in an authentic and intimate setting. Together with American-Austrian clarinetist Josef Lamell, she is a proud founding member of the Duo Lamell-Matthys, which has moved audiences in Europe, the United States and Asia with their unique mix of standard repertoire and original arrangements. In 2026, Matthys released her debut album Picture Frame which embraces all the different facets of her artistic identity. Simultaneously with her performance career, Nathalie shares her knowledge and passion in her private studio. With more than 13 years of teaching experience in Belgium and Austria, giving master classes at the Beethoven Conservatory Vienna (2023) and University of Houston (2026) and distilling her pedagogy from her expierences at the Royal Conservatory of Ghent (Belgium), Indiana University Jacobs School of Music (USA) and numerous master classes in Belgium, Austria, the USA and Italy, Nathalie's NMusician Studio focuses on discovery, creativity, expression and discipline for each individual student. NMusician Studio welcomes any music enthousiast, whether they are interested in classical piano, jazz vocal or a combination of both. A minimum of two live student concerts are organized per year in Vienna, and students who have ambitions to perform in competitions or obtain certain certificates will be adequately supported in their endeavors. With her background in both classical music and jazz, Nathalie provides most of the crossover arrangements for Duo Lamell-Matthys, usually composed for clarinet, piano and voice. She has worked as a lyricist for music by Aaron Parks and Marc Matthys and devotes part of her time to original compositions. On a regular basis, Nathalie produces a series of shorts, music videos and vlogs which are all available in early access on Patreon and shared on Youtube and Instagram afterwards. Her videos are closely linked to her mission by sharing short #peacefulmoments and #tipoftheweeks, longer vlogs on practical guides, musicianship and personal growth, and a mix of classical music, jazz, originals and covers.
