Three tips to help you face high pressure. Nathalie’s Vlog #22
Today’s vlog is definitely inspired by personal turmoil in the last couple of weeks. I always feel March is an extremely busy month and each year I try to plan it better and each year it’s still hell. Maybe I should just back off, haha! Anyway, if you’re dealing with high pressure as well, I hope this video serves you and makes you feel better. And when in doubt, always remember that you can do ANYTHING you set your mind to. I believe in you!
Take care
Nathalie

Hi Nathalie,
I just heard you playing on youtube, you are incredible! I wanted to ask you, as a professional you certainly faced many exams and concerts. How do you handle stage fright/performance anxiety? Congratulations and all the best for your career.

Hi Alessandro,
Thanks so much for your comment! I have to say, as a kid, I barely had any problems, but the older I became and the more advanced I became, the more the anxiety grew. I made a blog post about just that a little while ago that you can access here: https://nathaliematthys.com/five-personally-tested-and-approved-tips-to-overcome-stage-fright/
I also noticed that my thinking during my practice affects the amount of “stage fright”. If I’m practicing with the constant pressure of “Oh no, I made a mistake again, I need to do better”, my anxiety grows. However, if I focus on the sound and the improvement and the joy during my practice, the anxiety fades.
Safe to say it’s a process and an excellent way of getting to know yourself. 🙂
